Treasurer Jim Chalmers has addressed the recent national accounts data and acknowledged the weaker than expected GDP growth.

The latest national accounts data for the September quarter revealed a 0.3 per cent GDP growth, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

“This GDP growth number today is below what economists were expecting. It is a weaker economy than was anticipated, but we are seeing that growth in real household disposable incomes again on a per capita basis, and that’s a good thing,” Mr Chalmers told Sky News Australia.
