Young St. John Bosco Shut Down a Dance Party | Ep. 139

By the time he was nine years old, young John Bosco could be seen putting on his own shows. Tightrope walking, juggling, sleight of hand and puppetry attracted many of his contemporaries, sometimes 100 boys at a time watching. The price of admission to these shows? “Let us say Our Lady’s rosary!” said the young showman; his audience knelt and gladly obeyed. Today we'll hear about a singular event occurred in his boyhood, when John challenged some traveling charlatans who were interfering with church services to match their prowess against his. This was to be repeated on several different occasions. We will also hear about how he shut down a dance party which was disturbing the peace. Such resourcefulness and piety is incredible in one so young.
