Hi, we're Action Sealtite, welcome to our IBC video.
We're going to talk you through how to measure the valve on your IBC tank, and some of the adapters that are available.
How to Measure the IBC Valve
IBCs come with the following variety of different sized threads. So, today we're going to be measuring the: S60x6, but they also come in S75x6, S92x4 and S100x8.
As per our recent blog post (How to Measure IBC Container Fittings) there are two measurements you need to take into consideration when you're measuring the thread on your IBC valve.
To measure the outside diameter, you take the measurement across the outlet. This measurement must include the threads. Measurements are in millimetres and make up the first part of the thread 'code'. Carla users a ruler to show how you measure the outside diameter.
The pitch is the distance from a point on the peak of a thread to the same point on the next thread. Measurements are in millimetres and this figure is the second part of the thread code. Carla points to the points at which to measure from.
There is a diagram of this on the blog post so check it out.
Different Fittings
So, here are some of the adaptors you can use, and we're going to show you how you can install them.
Female to Male Camlock Adaptor (Part A)
o This part is a female to male camlock adaptor, and Carla points to part A.
o This example is an S60 x 6 at the IBC end, and this fitting is available in a few sizes: 100A (1"), 150A (1 ½"), and 200A (2").
o As you can see it simply screws straight onto the IBC valve and is now ready to attach a cam.
Female to Female Camlock Adaptor (Part D)
o This is a female to female camlock adaptor, this is a part D.
o Again, we have an S60 x 6, so we can simply screw this straight to the IBC.
o This fitting is available in 2" only, but it is now ready to cam.
Female Thread by Female Thread
o As you can see, this fitting is female thread by female thread.
o This is S60 x 6 by 2" BSP.
o The options for this fitting are: 1 ½" or 2" with either a BSP or NPS thread.
o And it easily fits onto the IBC.
Male Thread by Female Thread
o So, this is a Male Thread by Female Thread fitting.
o It fits to the IBC like this…
o These are available is the following sizes: ¾", 1", 1 ½", and 2", which all come in BSP & NPS meaning you can attach any other fitting of the same size straight onto your IBC.
Female Thread by Hosetail
o If you want to attach a hose directly to your IBC, you need a fitting with a hose tail.
o This fitting as you can see is a Female by Hosetail
o This is available in 1", 1 ¼", 1 ½" and 2".
o You can screw it on like this …
IBC Garden Hose Kit
o There are instances when it's necessary to attach an IBC to a garden hose and we have just the thing!
o This garden hose kit comes as one complete kit, so you won't need to buy anything else.
o Check the description for links to all of these fittings.
o This simply screws straight onto the IBC as usual and then you can just attach your garden hose!
So, there you have it! A full range of adaptors. We have included links below to all the different PDFs and guides, and of course or blog post.
