Rycote USM-Kit Studio Shockmount and Pop Filter - Sound Speeds Review

It's about time I review this piece of gear. It saves me a lot of time and does it's job incredibly well. Once you see the build quality and performance, I'm sure you'll agree.

What am I talking about? The Rycote USM-kit studio microphone shockmount and pop filter. Unlike many conventional shockmounts, the USM uses Rycote Invision Lyre plastic isolators instead of elastic. There are advantages and they will be discussed. The USM can be purchased for around $80 but if you add the adjustable shockmount for an additional $20, the entire system will be complete and ready for literally... whatever.

Keep in mind that while many used mics come with the shockmount, some don't. If you want a universal shockmount that will work great with almost any mic, consider the Rycote USM. Watch my review of it here:
