‘Should make Republicans awfully nervous’: What new poll numbers signal for Trump

New polling from The New York Times and Siena College show Kamala Harris making significant gains in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina, important swing states that seemed to be under Trump’s grip just a few weeks ago. The MaddowBlog’s Steve Benen discusses why these numbers should make Republicans nervous and the reasons Trump’s campaign appears to be flailing. They also discuss Benen’s new book, “Ministry of Truth,” which explores GOP attempts to rewrite the stories of the recent past and the consequences it’s having on democracy. “They’re doing this on purpose in a way that destabilizes democracy and makes the political system itself unable to function because people aren’t in a position to separate fact from fiction,” Benen warns.
