Daisy was our last doe to kid for this season. She had 2 big healthy kids. One buck, one doe.
We sorted does into breeding groups and brought the bucks up from the back pasture. These groups will be due to kid in January. Spent the day moving gates, setting up fences, & moving livestock around. This was recorded in early/mid August when we started our summer slump, the period of summer when there's no rain, no grass growing, weeds are maturing and becoming unpalatable and it's a struggle to find enough forage. I'm starting to feed hay across the top of a hill in our pasture that has almost no top soil, in hopes of renovating that pasture by next summer.
The cows are getting closer to calving and I'm expecting more calves any day now.
I ran fecal samples and had a few kids I needed to treat. 2 had coccidia and one needed deworming.
