Rooftops (Jesus Culture) Drum Cover (Gino Sobrito)

Another very popular song these last few years. The cadence in the beginning is done many different ways by different people. I have seen guys keep the ghost notes with one hand while keeping the strikes with the other. I have tried it both ways but the method I use works best for me. During the two choruses it is important to keep the kick at 1/4 notes when the HH is at 1/2 time as it encompasses the whole groove. When I first learned this song I just played it straight and the rest of our band learned it that way. I eventually heard the original and it drove me nuts. So I made the transition over to the correct rhythm and it threw everyone off a bit as they had to adjust the way they were playing it. In the end though it paid off as the whole song sounds much better.
