A valuable demo sound source of "Sour Milk Sea" remains from the session held before the production of "White Album".
This is a fake cross between the Beatles demo audio and the Jackie Lomax version.

George Harrison provided this song to Jackie Lomax, who made he debut on the Apple label.
The recording featured an extremely powerful lineup of George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, and Nicky Hopkins.
Eric Clapton's guitar that drives throughout the song and Nicky Hopkins' piano that gets into the zone give the song a powerful vitality.
I like that it has the sound and feel of a song from the "White Album" because three members of the Beatles are participating.
If it had been released by the Beatles, it would have been a song that would have had an outstanding presence on the "White Album."
It's one of the most exciting rock numbers in George's career, and I wish the Beatles had released it if possible.

After recording "Sour Milk Sea", Nicky Hopkins joined them on "Revolution" and Eric Clapton joined them on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".
The connection with Eric Clapton later became a major driving force behind John Lennon's formation of the Plastic Ono Band.

全編に渡ってドライヴするエリック・クラプトンのギターとゾーンに入りまくったニッキー・ホプキンスのピアノが曲に力強い生命力を吹きこんでいます。
ビートルズのメンバー３人が参加していることで「ホワイトアルバム」の収録曲のようなサウンド、手触り感があるのがいいですね。
ビートルズとして発表していれば、名曲揃いの「ホワイトアルバム」においても飛び抜けた存在感を放つ曲になっていたでしょう。
