PM Modi Assures Farmers Over Farm Laws, Accuses Opposition Of Misleading Farmers For Political Gains

PM Narendra Modi addressing the farmers of Madhya Pradesh, strongly suggested that the ongoing agitation was more politics and less an issue of farmers. PM Modi said the new farm laws brought by his government did not become laws overnight rather they were long overdue to bring agriculture reforms in the country. PM Modi asserted that the existing regime of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for agricultural produce would continue.
PM Modi said political parties, agriculture experts and progressive farmers demanded such agriculture reforms for long. He said the Opposition is misleading the farmers on the issue of MSP and Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) when the government has brought out laws that were earlier demanded by experts.
