Diesel project moving along

Описание к видео Diesel project moving along

This was a visit I had to the Bo'ness TMD-Home of The SRPS Diesel Group to see how things were coming along with their diesel project Class 25 BoBo Diesel No. 25235.
Type 2 Class 25 BoBo locomotive No. 25235 needs your help. After twenty years of service on the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway and visits to other preserved railways, No. 25235 had to be withdrawn from service due to worn-out wheelsets. These are too small in size to be reprofiled and new tyres need to be fitted. It is estimated this work will cost around £20,000 and once carried out the loco can enjoy many more years of running.

This heritage diesel locomotive was built in 1964 in Darlington, one of the Class 25 locomotives built under the Modernisation Plan. In the 1970s they were at work across the entire British Rail network and were used extensively in Scotland

The loco is a favourite of the Diesel Group as it was the first large diesel restoration project carried out by the volunteers at Bo’ness.

In the event of insufficient funds being raised to make the projects financially viable or the Society being unable to go ahead and complete the projects, your donation will be put to a project most closely resembling the one(s) you have chosen.
