Overview of Geely E5 EV

Launched in May 2024, the Geely E5 EV is a global model by the Chinese automaker and will progressively be introduced in many markets. It will not, however, be sold in Malaysia but a twin model known as the e.MAS 7 will be offered by Proton.

The E5 and e.MAS 7 were co-developed by Geely and Proton, with the Malaysian automaker focussing on the righthand drive variant. The joint project obviously benefits both companies as costs can be shared; in many areas, parts and systems will also be shared, enabling better economies of scale to lower production costs.
