As part of the series looking at vintage housewares, here is the Cavalcade collection of canister sets. These sets - usually containing four canisters - sat proudly on kitchen counters for generations. Examples in bright chrome, plastic, aluminum, glass and ceramic help to add a little personality to any kitchen decor. These common kitchen canisters were often found at dime stores and department stores and manufactured by companies such as Kromex, Tupperware, West Bend, Ransburg, Pyrex, Treasure Craft and others.
