Behindwoods Gold Medals 2017 presents Dance choreographer Brinda for Tharai Thappattai. She received the award from her Sister Kala. Brinda thanked Director Bala for the opportunity, hero Sasikumar, Varalakshmi & all the dancers. She was surprised that the award was presented by her sister & dedicated the award to her manager.


Tharai Thappattai or Thaarai Thappattai is musical art film written, produced and directed by Bala. The film features Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the leading roles, while Ilaiyaraaja composes the film's music based on karakattam. This film also happens to be Ilaiyaraaja's 1000th film. The film began production in 2013 and released on 14 January 2016.
