The 6U Turkey Feet All-Stars were playing in their second coach-pitch tournament of the summer at the Showtime Baseball Tournament in Somerset, KY (near Lake Cumberland). This tournament would feature both 6U and 7U teams--including our league's State Championship winning 7U All-Stars! We were hoping to play well enough to meet them in the championship game and guarantee the tournament championship coming back to Eastern Little League.

This game would be our first game of pool play--against a team we had played several times already this summer in tee-ball tournaments: South Lex - Red. We knew they would be a tough challenge, and highly competitive. Although we had beaten them three straight times, all the previous games were close and could have gone either way. However, this was coach pitch, and we were hoping that all of our practice and previous tournament experience would create some separation between our two teams.
