Chordplay - 100th Episode 'Chord Workouts'

Описание к видео Chordplay - 100th Episode 'Chord Workouts'

Here's the next episode of Chordplay with the 100th episode special 'Chord Workouts.'
Needless to say, there are many benefits from working with chords and chord-based ideas, workouts, warmups, and exercises, and this lesson takes a look at a few of my personal chord-related warmups and workouts.

I've been influenced and formed a love of working with chords by learning music/ideas from some of my favorite guitarists, including "chordy" legends such as Eddie Van Halen, Alex Lifeson, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Michael Hedges, Jimi Hendrix, and many more. This includes spending time working through material from educational masters such as Ted Greene and advanced jazz-based ideas of legends such as Lenny Breau and Joe Pass.

This special episode features a few of my favorite chord-based warmups and workouts, including a challenging E7sus4/Em(b13) related series of ideas mapped on the fretboard, a few add9 chord warmups, and a melodic arpeggio-based idea that moves through a challenging sequence of chords and creates a number of stretchy situations on the neck.

There's a lot you can learn and gain from working with chords on the guitar in this manner and this lesson should be viewed as a suggestion for creating some ideas and workouts likes these of your own design. If you have a few favorite shapes laying around, playing around with them and see what happens when you twist and shift some chords that you already are comfortable with around on the neck, as you never know what might happen or you'll discover by using some creativity and a little of your imagination.
