2013 Honda Fit transmission fluid flush

Описание к видео 2013 Honda Fit transmission fluid flush

I did this video to show how I drain and flush/replace the transmission fluid on a 2013 Honda FIT by using the car to simply pump out the old fluid. To me this makes a lot more sense than Honda's method of changing the transmission fluid of draining/refilling 3 times with 100 miles between draining.

The idea here is equally applicable to most cars. This 2013 Honda FIT only has one replaceable transmission filter which you replace (other cars will also have a pan and screen that need to be emptied and cleaned). You then drain the Honda FIT transmission and refill with 3 quarts of fluid. You take off the return transmission line coming from the transmission cooler, attach a hose to it going into preferably a gallon oil jug with a way to see the oil level, start the car, and run it long enough to pump out 1 quart of transmission fluid into your waste gallon oil jug (approx 10-12 seconds). You turn off the car. You then add 1 quart of transmission fluid back into the car.

You then repeat the start car/pump out 1 quart, shut off, refill one quart cycle a second and a third time. The fourth time you do it again only you add back about 1/2 quart instead of an entire quart, put the Honda FIT back together and reattach the transmission cooler hose, and test drive until the car is up to running temp (fans cut on). You then park the car on level ground and check the transmission oil level between 60-90 seconds after turning off the car and top off as necessary.

This relatively easy process lets you pump out and replace the transmission fluid in one go.
