Mangy Sings for His Beloved Fetlockers

You’re the ones for whom I write my songs
in my vain attempt to right some wrongs.
You’re the reason I remain inspired
even after long days when I’m tired.
You supply the feedback that I need
making sure the next song’s guaranteed.
You’re the reason I do what I do
all because, I love to sing for you.

You’re the light that shines inside my head.
Without you, it could go dark instead.
You’re the power pushing me along
as I search for words to fill each song.
You provide a constant source of hope,
an incentive to do more than cope.
You help keep me honest, straight and true
so, in gratitude, I sing for you.

Some folks feel they’ve got no reason to live.
Some will just give up and die in bed.
You reflect every bit of love I give.
I’m blessed to get to share what’s in my head.

You’re the folks I think of when I rise
it’s you I hope to humor or surprise.
Though it may sound cliched, it is true
I find joy each time I sing for you.
