His father was Raisaheb Kartar Nath malhotra. His brothers Prem Nath and Narendra Nath were also actors who mostly appeared in comic and supporting roles.Kri shna Raj Kapoor and Uma chopra are his sisters.

His Wife name is Gullu.He had a son Yuvraj Nath Malhotra.
