Evacuation tanks in Finland 1944-2022

Panssarimuseo organized a themed day on Saturday 23 April 2022 at Parolannummi, with the support of Panssariprikaati and Panssarikilta r.y.
The event is intended for those interested in the use and technology of evacuation tanks. The first part of the theme day consists of three lectures held in the Vaakunasali and in the afternoon a action demonstration, the first of which will be held on the museum's display field and the second on the terrain of Parola's Leijona.
The event will discuss all models of armored evacuation vehicles / armored recovery vehicles / recovery tanks that were in use in Finland (old name towed armored vehicle): T-28V, ISU-152V, BTS-2, KAM-1, KAM-2, JVBT-55A, VT-55A, MTP-LB and Leopard 1 ARV. Except for the first two, all vehicle scan be seen at the event.

Evakuointipanssarivaunut Suomessa 1944-2022

Panssarimuseo järjestää Panssariprikaatin ja Panssarikilta r.y:n tukemana Suomessa käytössä olleiden evakuointipanssarivaunujen teknisiä ominaisuuksia, hankintoja ja palvelushistoriaa käsittelevän teemapäivän lauantaina 23.4.2022 Parolannummella.
Tilaisuus on tarkoitettu evakuointipanssarivaunujen käytöstä ja tekniikasta kiinnostuneille. Teemapäivän alkuosa koostuu Vaakunasalissa pidettävistä kolmesta luennosta ja iltapäivällä kandesta toiminnallisesta näytöksestä, joista ensimmäinen pidetään museon näytöskentällä ja toinen Parolan Leijonan maastossa.
Tilaisuudessa käsitellään kaikkia Suomessa käytössä olleita evakuointipanssarivaunumalleja (vanha nimitys hinauspanssarivaunu): T-28V, ISU-152V, BTS-2, KAM-1, KAM-2, JVBT-55A, VT-55A, MTP-LB ja Leopard 1 ARV. Kahta ensimmäistä lukuun ottamatta kaikki vaunut ovat nähtävissä tilaisuudessa.

VT-55A ARV is special tracked vehicle built on a T-55a medium tank chassis. it was designed to recover equipment stuck on an obstacle or equipment damaged in combat or even to make repairs. Its armour, resistance to weapons of mass destruction (wmd) and complete drive (engine, gearbox) were maintained and they are identical to the T-55a type.
MTP-LB is a Soviet designed multi-purpose, fully amphibious, tracked armored fighting vehicle in use since the 1970s. This is battlefield engineering variant for battlefield towing, repair and support missions. This vehicle is built in Bulgaria.
Leopard 1 ARV - commenced in 1962 on a new Armoured Recovery Vehicle (ARV) based on the Leopard-1 chassis and with fully compatible characteristics (cruising speed, mobility, submergibility, NBC-protection and durability). Winch capacity is 70 tons in double-wire pull. Crane capacity is 20 tons. A spare power pack can be carried at a platform at the rear of the vehicle. Engine change can be performed in the field in 30 minutes. The ARV is capable of limited support of the Leopard 2.
BMP-1 is Soviet amphibious tracked infantry fighting vehicle, in service from 1966.

Panssarimuseo

Panssarimuseo on perustettu vuonna 1961 ja siihen tutustuu vuosittain yli 30 000 kävijää. Museon kokoelmiin kuuluu noin 70 panssariajoneuvoa, 40 panssarintorjunta-asetta ja panssarijuna.

Parola Armour Museum

Parola Tank Museum, Armoured Vehicle Museum is a military museum located 110 kilometres north of Helsinki in Parola, near Hämeenlinna, Finland, a few kilometres from the Finnish Army Armoured Brigade training unit. It displays various tanks, armoured vehicles and anti-tank guns used by the Finnish Defence Forces throughout their history. A rare exhibit is an armoured train used in World War II.
