Horsham District Council is investing over £12million in building The Bridge – a spectacular public dry sport and leisure centre at Broadbridge Heath.

This new centre will complement the existing facilities in Horsham, Billingshurst and Steyning to create first class leisure opportunities that meets both the current and future aspirations of our growing community.

Working closely with partners, local clubs and users Horsham District Council is developing The Bridge here in Broadbridge Heath next to the site of our existing leisure centre building, adjacent to the Indoor Bowls Club.

The Bridge will open to the public in October 2018.
Inside the new leisure centre
• A six court sports hall
• An 80-station gym, a cycle studio and three fitness studios
• A café
• A sensory room
• Changing for indoor and outdoor activity
• A Changing Places disabled changing facility
• A clip and climb facility

Outside the new leisure centre
• A retained outdoor athletics track
• Football pitches and open recreational space including a changing area and new club house
• Five multi-use games areas (MUGA)
• A skate park
• Car parking

Horsham District Council has appointed a first class team to design this exciting new leisure centre including GT3 Architects who have significant experience in designing leisure centres. Appleyard and Trew will oversee the construction project as project managers.

Places for People Leisure, who currently manage all of our four district leisure centres will also manage The Bridge. They are a leading leisure and wellness partner who will continue to deliver fitness, sport, health and wellbeing activities for our local clubs, sporting groups and residents of all ages.
