Shovel Knight but it's absolutely epic on vinyl

Imo "Strike The Earth!" is one of the best video game songs ever written, and it has a special place in my heart because my 2014 remix was one of my break-out songs!

I met the Yacht Club team at a convention, I think it was PAX East (maybe West?) and someone working the booth was a fan of my remixes! I asked if it was cool if I remixed Shovel Knight and they said absolutely!

I later reached out to Virt and asked if he was cool with it too, and he responded enthusiastically. I was so excited! So a little while later, me and my pal Kevin from ‪@HyperPotions‬ set to work on what became my biggest track of 2014-2015.

Kevin and I mapped out the entire production in a hotel room at another convention, Too Many Games, just outside of my hometown of Philadelphia. I spent weeks mixing the arrangement Kevin and I put together (because our mixing decisions in that hotel room were not the best) and when I was finally at 100%, we released it!

I played this track live so often, even though Kev and I never really made it "DJ Friendly". There's an extended intro that is a nice place to mix in, but then I found it was best to let the whole track play out, it is so melodically intense that mixing a new track in while those chiptune riffs are shredding was too much!
