Puri, also known as Jagannath Puri, is a coastal city in Odisha, India, famous for the iconic Jagannath Temple, a significant pilgrimage destination for Hindus, particularly followers of the Vaishnava tradition, and for its annual Rath Yatra
Puri is located on the eastern coast of India, in the state of Odisha, and is the district headquarters of Puri district. 

Jagannath Temple:

The Jagannath Temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu, and is one of the most renowned and oldest temples in India. 

Rath Yatra:

The temple is famous for its annual Rath Yatra or Chariot Festival, which attracts millions of devotees from around the world.

Puri also has other attractions, including the Gundicha Temple, Puri Beach, and the Nilachal Bhakta Niwas & Nilachal Yatri Niwas guesthouse. 

Significance:

Puri is one of the four Dhamas (holiest of the holy places) in India, along with Dwarika, Badrinath, and Rameswar. 

Architecture:

The Jagannath Temple is an impressive structure constructed in Kalinga architecture, with a height of 65 meters placed on an elevated platform. 

Festivals:

Besides the Rath Yatra, other festivals observed in Puri include Snana Yatra, Netrotsava, Sayan Ekadasi, Chitalagi Amabasya, Srikrushna Janma, and Dussehra.
