Taimatsu Akashi is a fire festival in Sukagawa in Fukushima Prefecture where 10-meter tall torches are set up on Gorozan to remember those who fell in battle four centuries ago.

In 1589 Warlord Date Masamune in his expansion of northern Japan attacked and burned Sukagawa Castle killing many soldiers and civilians in the blaze.

Taimatsu Akashi is held on the second Saturday of November.
