Welcome to my new series of discussions around buying a campervan. We are going to be covering a wide range of topics including how to choose the right vehicle for you, how to go about it, what items you need in your campervan, do you need to spend big money or could you buy a van on a budget, plus lots more.

Today I am discussing things for you to consider when buying a camper van. This isn't a one van for all, everyone is different and your perfect camper, may not be the same as my idea of a perfect camper.

I will share tips and ideas to buying a camper, a VW Transporter Campervan to help you on your journey.

What is your budget for buying a campervan? How much do you need to buy a camper van?
What will your van be used for?
How many people will travel in the van? How many people will sleep in the van?
Does the height of the van matter? Will you be parking in height restricted car parks?
SWB or LWB? Can you park it? Is the LWB too long?
Will it be a day van? Do you need kombi van? Do you need a full campervan?
Where do you plan to travel? Will you be driving in Europe? Do you need a good heating system?
A desel heater? An LPG heater?
Do you need air con?
Do you need an awning to sleep extra people or storage?
Hw long will you travel for?
Where will you store your luggage?

I bought a VW Transporter T6 Kombi Highline van 140bhp diesel SWB with tailgate.

I have lots more to do though, I have a new electrical system, using Victron components and a Lithium LIFEPO4 battery, so I obviously need to install some power devices. I have a new sound system, with Focal speakers and ibus 2.1 amp, Playstation PS4, which will be removable, TV's on headrests.

Lots for me to look forward too and it would be nice to take you on the journey.

Vanlife for me is just beginning, it's a great adventure and I'm loving it. 😍
