A man was found wrapped in a blanket and bound with duct tape in a vehicle outside an emergency room.

Authorities have identified a person of interest in the death of Declan Perry, a 27-year-old man from Portland, Maine, whose body was discovered inside a vehicle near the emergency room entrance at South Shore Hospital in Massachusetts. The body was wrapped in blankets and bound with duct tape, officials said.

Investigators believe Perry's death is connected to a condo complex in Scituate, a revelation that has left local residents stunned. Mike Marini, a resident, told WCVB, "I'm absolutely shocked about ... that they are executing search warrants and there's actual evidence that somebody was loading a body into a car. That's not something you hear every day."

Following news reports over the weekend, residents of the Scituate community contacted police. They reported seeing a man loading a large, heavy-looking blanket into a black Honda Civic earlier on Saturday morning.

Police executed a search warrant at one of the condos last night and discovered several items of evidence related to the case. Authorities are treating the death as suspicious, and the manner and cause of death are pending from the medical examiner.
