Why I left Christianity and never looked Back!

My next guest on Advocate of Soul is Robert Rutherford. I ask all those I interview to send me a short bio. In his own words...

I am a 1960 model. Raised in a conservative Christian home with white privilege, using the bible as our moral compass.

In other words, I was trained to be a prejudiced, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, zionistic, narcissist, psychopathic elitist who was superior to other sexes, races, religions, nationalities and mindsets.

My "coming out" experience was a messy affair, a bloodbath, and way too much for most people in my world to ever comprehend or accept. It was like....... "Guys.....I'm gay.
And I don't believe the bible is the word of God. And I'm not conservative, I'm liberal.And there is no Hell or Satan. And the God you serve never existed.

And I don't pray. And religion is the worst addiction. And I hate people believing some God gave them a miracle their neighbors didn't get. And I don't believe people live in the sky, standing around a bejeweled throne saying "HOLY, Holy, Holy" throughout eternity.

And church is pretty much a waste of time. And most Christian music sux and makes me want to tear my hair out." It was just TOO MUCH, TOO FAST, TOO CRAZY. LOL
They had no choice but to say, "He's sick. Probably a brain tumor, mentally ill, maybe demon possessed, definitely turned over to a reprobate mind.

And they easily found some "GOOD CHRISTIAN WARRIORS" to tell them to "cut me off, shut me out, turn me over to Satan for my destruction, show me TOUGH LOVE."
It's a sordid tale, but the end result is this: "The greatest of these is LOVE."

I have 10 biological kids and a couple of "adopted" kids who are all grown. I have 29 biological grandkids. I was married to a good Christian woman for 25 years.
Now I am in my 14th year with my husband. We have 4 beautiful adopted kids. Every day is difficult, beautiful and perfect.

I love my neighbors. (even the ones I hate)
I live one day at a time.
I lean on logic, reality and love...... and the greatest of these is LOVE!
