These wretched and sadistic demons lord it over lesser tanar'ri, while at the same time grovelling for the favor of greater demons. As long as a Chasme has a fresh supply of blood and a screaming victim to torture, they are usually willing to carry out any orders given to them. In the 5th edition of the Dungeons and Dragons role playing game, these mid range demons are less troublesome for summoners while still getting the information and services a demon can provide, without a serious risk to life and limb (well, within reason).
