Listen up Ep 03 | The Science Of Haptics with Dr Riaz Uddin

We met Dr. Riaz Uddin, Principal Investigator/Director of Haptic, Human-Robotics and Condition Monitoring Lab; Director ORIC, NED-UET who is an expert on Haptics.

He was recently in the news for conducting the world's first intercontinental tele-robotic experiment using haptic feedback in which a robot in Austria was controlled from his lab in NED-UET, Karachi! This has implications ranging from surgery and medicine, disaster response in remote areas, and mining to conducting experiments and operations in space!

With hundreds of research papers published in various scientific Journals and international patents in his name, Dr. Riaz is one of the most accomplished scientists in Pakistan and takes keen interest in student development and enabling young minds to turn towards research and development in science and engineering. It has been an honour to host him and have a delightful conversation about his subject, Pakistan's state of science and engineering in present and in the future, career advice, positivity and his view of the student mindset.
