Original comments: "I first saw Aaron Parks with Kurt Rosenwinkel over 15 years ago. He's been a frequent partner of Kurt's, and had just completed the East Coast leg of a tour in his Quartet shortly before this gig (look for a new official live record from their week at the Village Vanguard soon). I've also seen Aaron with James Farm, which included Joshua Redman, Eric Harland, and Matt Penman; and in groups and duos with guitarist Mike Moreno. He's a terrific player and writer who also works in a couple of Trios where he's either the leader of part of a cooperative. Finally, he leads a more electric group called Little Big, and one of their shows was recently shared here.
I was intrigued to hear what he might do in this kind of context, whose configuration mirrors ensembles like the Miles Davis Quintet. I was also curious to hear what might be played. It turns out that Aaron chose many of his own compositions, some of which have been recorded and performed in other contexts, and others which were new to me. The only member of his group here that I'd heard much of was the fine drummer, Nasheet Waits. The other players impressed me greatly, particularly Adam O'Farrill. I'd love to hear him do a studio project of this material with these musicians.
I got this and a few other recent shows I'll share through swapping WAV files of shows with someone who got the audio files from livestreamed events.I'm not sure exactly what they used to capture the streams. Many thanks to them. Where Are You Going in set 1 has the wail of a NYC fire engine towards its start because there seemed to have been one outside the venue at that point. There were also some minor glitches in that early part of the show when the streaming was not totally set correctly."

Thanks to ??? and egyptianminor.
