Scouting THE BEST ISLAND For Off Grid Houseboating

This week’s Deep Houseboat Life video is all about finding the perfect spot to houseboat camp on Lake Lanier on a holiday weekend. It’s Memorial Day weekend, and we’re getting a late start to the celebrations by scouting out a spot to beach our Lake Lanier houseboat on late Saturday afternoon. This is the third video in our houseboat camping series.

The last several months, we’ve been looking for the “perfect” beach or island to call our “home away from home” when we’re away from the dock. It can be a bit of a crap shoot trying to find a place to beach your houseboat, especially when you get a late start, like us, on a holiday weekend. At this point, we’re not sure if we will even find a beach or island this late in the “holiday” game, much less the “perfect” beach. Come along with us as we show what happens when we take our off grid houseboat away from the dock to try to find that special place to make memories as a family.
