The Fiat Uno – a small, practical hatchback – is a car that doesn't exactly scream "performance." But beneath its modest exterior lies a legend in the making – the Fiat Uno Turbo. This little hot hatch, born from a collaboration between Fiat and Abarth, packed a surprising punch and carved a niche for itself in automotive history. And this car is actually quite special to me, you see the first taste I ever got of speed was in a little uno turbo, You see my step dad owned one, and I thought that that car was crazy fast. So join me Today as we delve into the story of the Uno Turbo, explore its specifications, and unleash its hidden potential through the world of tuning and drag racing.
So it all starts with The 1970s oil crisis which forced car manufacturers to rethink their approach. Fiat, known for its fuel-efficient city cars, needed a way to maintain performance without sacrificing practicality. Enter Abarth, the Italian tuning house with a history of transforming ordinary Fiats into fire-breathing machines.

In 1983, the result of this collaboration arrived – the Fiat Uno Turbo. The standard Uno received a significant makeover. At its heart was a firecracker – a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine equipped with a Garrett T2 turbocharger. This seemingly modest engine, boosted by forced induction, produced a healthy 105 horsepower and 157 Nm of torque, a significant jump from the standard Uno's 60 horsepower.
