My minimalistic running style has been put to the test with my 8 mile long run - I'm starting to practice running with a fanny pack with a water bottle at the hips, and an armband to store my phone. As having your own water source is highly recommended from the race organizer, I knew it was something I had to prepare and practice for no matter how much I hate running with something bouncing on my hips.

I've also made progress by booking some hotels but only after realizing how logistically difficult it is looking for hotels in rural Beijing was.
