Ralph Otho Hood, (the Great Grandfather of yacht designers Chris Hood) invented and patented the first gasoline electric hybrid automobile in 1904. But that was not his only invention. Watch the short story about this ingenious designer and the clever crew at Firefly Restorations of Hope, Maine, who 'restored' Ralph Hood's first automobile - the "Electronomic Safety Steam Vehicle".
This was a video I made for the Owls Head Transportation Museum, where the automobile now reside thanks to the The Richard C Paine Jr Automobile Collection Charitable Trust.
