In September 2022 NEWCC partnered with Wrexham Museum for National Sporting Heritage Day. For this project, we chose to celebrate the love of football shared by our proud Welsh and Polish communities in Wrexham. The museum arranged for a display of Welsh and Polish football memorabilia, and a lovely crafting session for kids to create Polish Eagles and Welsh Dragons.

To support this project we invited proud Wales supporter Chris Evans and equally proud Poland supporter Sebastian Gabrysiak to see the football memorabilia on display – and with the help of local filmmaker 73 Degree Films, we recorded an interview asking them about their favourite football memories from the past. This led to some valuable insights on the future of Welsh football: locally and nationally, how can we ensure that football is a game in which everyone can be safe, welcome and included?
