The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Kurung Kumey District Unit, is organising a “Run for Swadeshi” on the occasion of the 164th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, observed as National Youth Day.

The run will be held on 22nd January 2026, starting at 6:00 AM, from near NES Conference Spot, Koloriang, and will conclude at the General Ground, Koloriang.

The event will feature category-wise prizes separately for men and women. The first prize carries a cash award of ₹10,000 along with a certificate and trophy, while the second prize includes ₹5,000 with certificate and trophy, and the third prize offers ₹3,000 with certificate and trophy. Additionally, consolation prizes will be awarded up to the top 10 participants, each receiving a certificate.

Speaking about the event, BJYM Kurung Kumey District President Pisa Radhe stated that the main motto of the run is to promote Swadeshi values by encouraging local culture, indigenous products, and self-reliance. He further appealed to youths, students, the general public, and leaders of Kurung Kumey district to actively participate and make the programme a grand success.
