We all have a part to play in ensuring everyone has equal access to the ballot box in our own communities. Listen to Terrance Woodbury, founder and CEO of HIT Strategies, speak on the integral role local organizing efforts have to play in raising awareness of voter suppression. These efforts have been on full display in Georgia, where on-the-ground advocacy work has put this issue at the forefront of voters’ minds.

Voting rights are under attack by Republican state legislatures across the country. Last year, Georgia and Texas passed voting restrictions into law with the aim of curbing access to vote-by-mail and early voting. These efforts disproportionately impact marginalized groups, including low-income folks and people of color.

We need local leaders to step up and organize their community to ensure everyone has equal and fair access to the ballot.
