Welcome to this video on how to install LED Strip lighting on a dock to provide a downward indirect glow from the guardrails.

The LED strips I purchased came in 5 meter reels of 150x 5050 LEDs controlled by WS2811 chips.
You can find much higher resolution strips that combine the chip and the 5050 LED, but I wanted to keep my power requirement down and the cost low. There is really no benefit to having higher resolution indirect lighting when people won't be seeing your pixels anyway. Each reel along with the micro-controller and remote was only $15.99 on Amazon.

UPDATE: I am no longer including a link to purchase these LEDs because they ultimately were not very waterproof and they failed. Avoid strips with the following description: "HKBAYI 5M ws2811 50 ICs 5050 digital RGB Strip 150LED Pixels IP65 waterproof"
