Yo, what is up everybody? It’s your man, DJ Marc Antomattei of Tokyo, coming at you guys with yet another episode of the DJ Marc Antomattei Show. In this video I’m just going to do a very quick unboxing of the Neo d+ Series Class B and Class S USB cables.

What these things are, they’re USB cables for audio devices and music equipment and such. There are three classes, B, A, and S, and what I have here are the B and S cables. Not only can the different classes fluctuate the price, but so can the various lengths of cable you can buy.

What it essentially breaks down to though is the power conductor type is a little bit different between models along with the conductor signal type, and the other difference being the materials used to make the connecting terminals. They’ll go from platinum and rhodium to gold plated bronze alloy depending on the model.

USB is a digital signal, so I don’t think there will be a difference in sound quality between the three to be honest with you, or between these and a cheap cable. I think what the materials and build quality will do however is give you an extended cable life without having to replace it so soon from normal wear and tear. That’s one reason you may want to buy these, but maybe the bigger reason you’d want to buy are just that they look cool with the standout colors.

I have so many cables like this already, one came with my Focusrite audio interface, and I think another one came with a midi turntable I bought. To my audible hearing, I’ve found no difference between these or basic cables. So be warned you won’t get a jump in audio quality and fidelity. If you got the money to spend and know you are buying just for the looks and are OK with that, knock yourself out. Otherwise I’d say you might consider passing on these and getting something more budget. For bosses and flashy people like myself though, there are these.
