HEtTHTE crafts a sonic atmosphere that not only reflects the harsh aesthetic synonymous with the Finnish black metal scene but also transcends it in numerous ways.

At first glance this album might seem like a typical foray into the bleak, nihilistic world of Finnic black metal. However, upon deeper immersion, it reveals a dynamic range that stretches beyond conventional black metal tropes. There is something deeply unsettling yet invigorating in its structure, a sense that it is far from just regurgitating the genre's fundamentals but actively pushing its boundaries into progressive territories.

Although it might not be discernable in the start, as the album progresses the shifts between oppressive black metal riffing and slower, sludge-infused moments sometimes sprinkled with elements of death metal become more frequent. These transitions are very fluid yet unpredictable, an experimental approach even seen in the melody’s fabrication that challenges the listener, steering the record away from traditional black metal orthodoxy. The result is a sonic experience that feels more like a dissonant narrative than a mere collection of tracks sometimes hinting on being mere improvisations.
Despite that, the album's most extreme moments retain the fury and rawness of Finnish black metal, but the experimental leanings imbue them with an added sense of pure unpredictability.

This balance between black metal subgenres and dynamics is what gives the album its distinct identity. Even if it remains fundamentally black metal at its core, with all the darkness, aggression, and malevolence that entails, it is the progressive edge that sets it apart. The scope of creativity on display is staggering, a proof that one debuting record can be able to channel diverse musical inspiration and craft something still so well aligned with the black arts.
