AP Press academy chairman, Senior Journalist Kommeneni Srinivarsarao comments on the Supreme Court is currently hearing former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu's petition to dismiss the FIR related to a skill development scam. The main argument presented by Naidu's lawyers revolves around Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, added after the 2018 amendment. This section states that no investigation under the PC Act can be initiated against a public servant without prior sanction from the competent authority. Naidu's legal team contends that the FIR against him and his subsequent arrest are unlawful because the AP CID did not obtain the Governor's sanction before naming the former Chief Minister as an accused
