Описание к видео Abdominal masses with Mesenteric Lymphadenopathy, GB stones, Vesical stones, and Enlarged Prostate.

This video shows Gut signature ultrasound with abdominal masses, bilateral mesenteric Lymphadenopathy, Gallbladder stones, Vesical stones, and Enlarged Prostate.
The gut signature sign is an ultrasound term used to describe the appearance of the gastrointestinal wall.
An abdominal mass is an abnormal growth in the abdomen. An abdominal mass causes visible swelling and may change the shape of the abdomen. A person with an abdominal mass may notice weight gain and symptoms such as abdominal discomfort, pain, and bloating. Masses in the abdomen are often described by their location.
According to the National Cancer Institute, a mass is a lump in the body that can be caused by the abnormal growth of cells, a cyst, hormonal changes, or an immune reaction. Fortunately, a mass is not always cancer.
In most cases, a lump is caused by a hernia. An abdominal hernia is when the abdominal cavity structures push through a weakness in your abdominal wall muscles. Usually, this can be easily corrected with surgery. In rarer cases, the lump may be an undescended testicle, a harmless hematoma, or a lipoma.
While imaging tests, such as X-rays, are helpful in detecting masses or areas of abnormality, they alone can't differentiate cancerous cells from noncancerous cells. For the majority of cancers, the only way to make a definitive diagnosis is to perform a biopsy to collect cells for closer examination.
However, the only way to confirm whether a cyst or tumor is cancerous is to have it biopsied by your doctor. This involves surgically removing some or all of the lump. They'll look at the tissue from the cyst or tumor under a microscope to check for cancer cells.
An abnormal mass of tissue usually does not contain cysts or liquid areas. Solid tumors may be benign (not cancer), or malignant (cancer).
Difference between a tumor and a mass
A tumor is a commonly used, but non-specific, term for a neoplasm. The word tumor simply refers to a mass. This is a general term that can refer to benign (generally harmless) or malignant (cancerous) growths. Benign tumors are non-malignant/non-cancerous tumors.
