Brake hoses are important components in a vehicle's braking system. Regular inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the brake hoses are of crucial importance for the safety and performance of a vehicle. TRW therefore recommends checking brake hoses regularly, ideally during routine inspections or before long journeys. Some signs that brake hoses should be replaced include:

Cracks, grooves or damage to the external surface of the hose.
Hardening or stiffening of the material.
Leaks or traces of moisture at the connections.
Visible signs of aging or wear.

Internal defects in the brake hoses are difficult to detect from the outside and can lead to failure of the entire brake system.
TRW recommends changing the brake hoses after five years at the latest!
