The Microsoft Surface Pro charger gets damaged at the point where the cable joins the charger body- just like an Apple Magsafe Charger.
However, repair of the surface Pro charger is more tricky if not outight difficult. Most repairs involve breaking the upper case of the charger, so as to access the cables inside. This is not only risky but also time consuming.
The result of such a repair is an ugly looking case or use of insuating tapes all over.
In this video, I'm attempting for the first time ever to repair cable damage without opening the casing itself!
