영화 'My Darling Clementine'에
주제곡으로 쓰였었지요.
'Forty-niner'는 1849년
일확천금의 꿈을 안고
금광을 찾아 미국 서부로
몰려든 사람들을 지칭하지요

미국에서는 물에 빠져 죽은
Forty-Niner의 딸 '클레멘타인'을
그리는 노래지만 우리나라선
원곡과 달리 우리 정서에 맞게
어부인 아버지를 찾아나온 딸을
잃고 슬퍼하는 내용으로 번안
되어 불러지고 있습니다.(sdk)
