The Sex Lives of College Girls 3x07 Ending Explained: A Surprise Kiss by Whitney

Whitney, played by Alyah Chanelle Scott in "The Sex Lives of College Girls" Season 3, hasn't had an easy life, but she finds some solace in the unexpected turn of events in Episode 7. This has caused some jealousy for Whitney's new partner, Isaiah, and resulted in an awkward altercation at the campus gym. Whitney is unable to shake Canaan, even as their relationship with Isaiah develops, and she goes right to his door to kiss him.

Scott told the TV reporter, "It's that return to the past and enduring curiosity to be like, 'Well, if we fix the things, if I've worked on myself and I learned that I don't have to control everything, and if he's learned his lesson and admitted to his mistakes as well as is actually sorry, then maybe this can be good. Now, maybe we're fixed." In that instant, they deal with the things that were bothering them, and they say, 'Actually, let's give it a shot,' because we do care about each other. We'll see if it's true or not.

I believe the Canaan story is representative of what it's like to be a young person who has lessons to learn and hurts to heal and who searches for and finds it in many places. You want to shake her and tell her to wake up, but you know she will do what she's going to do.

I believe it stems from the demands of the milieu she was raised in; she has observed her mother and thought, "Wow, she handles everything with ease and poise," even if that is probably not the case. It is expected that she will just accept everything and deal with it. I think the authors handled it really well, and I'm happy I had the opportunity to witness her suffer in that time and attempt to cope with it.
