HOW TO CUT A CLASSIC FLATTOP

One of the most requested haircuts to make a step-by-step video of was THE FLATTOP and since I fuckin’ love all of y’all I called in THE STOOG and THE PRIEST to make that happen, The Priest turned the whole bloody sabbath into a 40 MINUTE (😱) sermon of the greasy laws of The Lard with his loyal servant EL CARNICERO non stop blabberin’ an hollerin’.

Those who have been to one of our shows or attended a course at @theoldschoolbarberacademy might know that we consider the flattop haircut in all it’s square forms to be the foundation of classic barbering and the roots of Hogtology... For us, UNDERSTANDING the flattop means understanding every men’s cut in the book... (understanding a haircut is SO MUCH more important than the mere execution of that cut).

I went for a very old school approach for this video, a 50’ inspired, tapered chop very close to a short pomp... In the weeks to come I’ll try to do a video of a military style as well as my favourite “flattop with fenders”.
