Players can sit behind the wheel of several types of vehicles (e.g. passenger cars, pick-up trucks, vans) and explore the vast terrain prepared by the developers. In addition, the creators have prepared several game modes, including police chases, street races, and courier missions. The in-game editor allows players to create their own vehicles and tracks. Driving models take into account many factors that influence vehicle movement. The highlight of BeamNG.drive is its incredibly realistic damage system - the similarity of in-game crashes to real-life road accidents is almost eerie.
