Ace's "Beautiful" Lick | What Is He Doing There | Tokyo 1977

A viewer directed me to Ace's live guitar solo from a 1977 show in Tokyo, Japan where Ace plays an ascending chordal pattern and "...the sound is beautiful..." (Thanks Kadenslife9876)
As much as Ace has been awkwarding things up lately with his trump chants and laying claim to Eddie's technique, I was immediately interested in checking this out - because I couldn't imagine which particular component of Ace's live solos could be classed as sounding 'beautiful'.
This turned out to be a great reminder that there are cool riffs and licks everywhere that I might totally overlook with an almost 'snobby' disregard due to being instantly able to recognise the notes/chords/patterns - this is not at all a flex - more a lame excuse for constantly being dazzled by the bits that are too fast or confusing for me, and thereby overlooking the coolness of a passage like this one.
