“It was a normal Friday night at Indian Aroma, a busy restaurant in Ilford. Families were eating, friends were chatting… when flames suddenly ripped through the building. Witnesses say it was like a scene from a nightmare.
One woman described seeing a man run out of the restaurant, his whole body on fire—‘like a fireball.’ People rushed with buckets of water to save him. Inside, chaos broke out as diners and staff scrambled to escape.
By the time firefighters arrived, some had made it out, but many were seriously injured. Seven people in total were hurt. Five were rushed to the hospital—and two are still fighting for their lives. Locals described seeing burn victims lying on the ground as emergency workers battled to save them.”
