I'm quitting Ozempic after 10 months on the lowest dose. Here's why. | The Hangry Woman

I was so hopeful that Ozempic would help me on my journey to better blood sugars, and it did initially, but the heart palpitations and chest pains were too much for me. Even on the lowest therapeutic dose (0.5mg), I couldnt handle it.

It took me almost the whole time I was on it to convince my endo that there was an issue with the rapid heartbeat after starting Ozempic. It's not anywhere in the literature or documentation of the medications, but I was tracking my heart rate every single day, every time I took the medicine.

I did achieve some great things on Ozempic, a1c down from 10 to 7.4, 35lbs of weight loss, smaller appetite and more mindful eating overall. I also feel like exercise and incorporating movement are much easier.

It's unfortunate that I have to stop, but I am moving to Trulicity, and I'm hoping for just as much help with my blood sugars and some similar effects. I'll keep you posted on what happens.
